Mini Probate Process (Michigan) ??

Does anyone familiar with Mini Probate (it might be called something different) process for estates that have a value of less than $15,000. A lawyer told me that you just fill out a form and the whole process takes about 48 to 72 hrs to complete.

Anyone heard of this???

Many states have that for small estates. Go to the probate court and ask the clerk nicely.

An update to my previous question - Michigan has a streamlined probate process for estates less than $16,000. It requires you to fill out a form and submit it back to the Probate Clerk. The whole process takes a matter of days. The funds are disbursed after the funeral costs are paid or a receipt of paid funeral costs are presented to the Court.
