What is the name of your state? Texas

I dated this man for years. We had finally gotten engaged, then he went and died on me. Very sad. I was a shock and suprise to the parents at the funeral. My financee made alot of money. The family is already dividing up his stuff and leaving me out in the cold. Not even a t-shirt. Do I have any rights? I also really don't want to upset this family. What should I do?

**A: if you were not specifically named in the will, or if there was no will, you are not in the pecking order as a beneficiary.
