Need Help with Estate Planning

Do I need to talk to an Attorney who specializes in Estate planning and preservation? My mother is almost 80 yrs old and was thinking of putting her house in my name- in the event that if she has to go into a nursing home in the future, her home will not be able to be taken away from her. It would be able to be kept in the family. Also my name is on her bank account as well to help keep the authorities from taking all of it if she has to live in a nursing care facility in the future. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated thanks

You don't have to. But it's darn good idea if your mother wants to do Medicaid planning. Too many do-it-yourselfers think that they know more than they actually do and end up shooting themselves in the foot.

Also check for attorneys that specialize in Elder Law.

If you don't want your mother to pay for her care, who would you expect to pay?
