What is the name of your state? New York... My father died 2 wks ago, leaving no will. Only asset is a co-op apt which was in the process of being transferred over to my mom when he died. He has about 15k in credit card/bank loan debt. Mom is scared that she will inherit this debt, or the banks will take her home away, her only asset. She has no savings. Is also in the process of applying for Medicaid to cover the cost of his medical bills, abt. 30k. Will she inherit this debt?? Will they take the house away? Both are low income, senior citizens. HELP! Pls advise.
