Recently a relative died leaving no will of any kind.
In what manner should this be handled. He had no immediate relatives (children or parents). And what does an attorney or laywer charge hourly in the state of Texas for handling something like this?

Absent a Will, or living children (or their descendents) or living parents or siblings, the estate typically goes to the next in line under Texas law, uncles and aunts and cousins usuaully.

As to what a lawyer charges per hour, that often depends on the size of the estate and the complexity and location. It's often less expensive per hour in Abiline than DAllas, but look not only at the hourly rate.
