You need to follow the instructions from the bank. They will (should) tell you exactly what they need. How were the accounts named? Were you listed as a beneficiary, or were the accounts also in your name?

Did your mother have any other assets beside the bank account?

Go to the county courthouse and file to open up probate. Most counties have expedited procedures for smaller estates. Soon after you file you will receive a document called letters testamentary and that is what you will need to present to the bank so they can issue a check.
