Obtaining a Copy Of Will

What is the name of your state? Texas

I reside in Texas. My father passed away in Maine, 3 years ago this February. Once he passed, his wife has refused contact to me by any means. I was wondering how do I go about getting a copy of his will. My Uncle is telling me I should put some effort in this. My mother seems to think that something is being hidden from me on the pretense that they are saying they cannot find me.

Do I have any options?

You need to contact the probate court in the county where your father died to see if probate of the will was opened. If so, once probated the will is public record. Since you live in a different state, they will normally send you a copy of the will for a charge per page.

If no will has been filed, consider hiring a probate attorney to get probate opened up so that judge can ask whoever has the will to produce it for court.
