Within the last year I ran into difficulty paying my property taxes (this is the first time this has ever happened). A third party paid the taxes for me and then took out a lien against my property. I want to repay everything, however I do not have all of the money to cover the lien. I tried to pay part of it, but my town refused, saying I have to pay it all in full. This seems very unfair. I want to pay it off and the best way that I can do this is in installments. But my town won't accept. The longer it takes me to pay off the amount in full, the more interest I pay. Can anyone offer any advice? Any help would be appreciated.

Property tax

One thing you can do to minimize the loss is to take the amounts that you can set aside for payment and put them in a savings account to earn interest. That way you can set off at least part of the interest.
