New York State- Are "Store Bought" power of attorney forms acceptable in NY State? Must they be filed with anyone or produced on demand?

NY PA

Any power of attorney that is properly drawn and executed is acceptable in NY. Probably most “store bought” powers of attorney are property drawn, but it is possible that some are not.

The PA does not usually have to be filed with anyone; however, in some circumstances, such as when using it to transfer title to real estate, you would have to record it along with the deed.

You would have to produce the PA on demand of anyone with whom you are using it. It is what gives you the authority to do whatever it is the power grants.
