I down loaded a Power of Attorney form for my mother. When we have it notarized does that make it legal? I have heard that a attorney needs to draw up this form and file it with whomever they file it with? Could you tell me if the form I downloaded (durable power of attorney) is legal? Thanks

If it is the right form that complies with your state's laws, and your mother is mentally competent, and and there is no fraud, corecion or undue influence, and it is properly signed and notarized, and the person appointed is legally qualified, it should be legal.

Whether it will be honored by a bank or third party is another issue.
