I live in Macon, Georgia and went through a situation where a lady my dad lived with the last 3-4 years of his life filed a common-law wife claim after his death in order to claim assets. Her claim was soundly rejected by the probate court as it had no basis in fact. My parents are buried together in a family burial plot and recently this lady erected a memorial to him right next to his grave. She didn't ask permission to do so. Is this legal? Is it within my rights to have it removed? Thanks.

Please clarify what you mean by "right next to his grave".

If the offending memorial is on the adjacent plot owned by his girlfriend, there is nothing you can do.

If it's on your father's plot, go have a talk with the cemetary people.
