for some 15 months, after the 6 month waiting, the heirs are still waiting for their assets to be rewarded to them. unfortunately everytime we call the attorney's office, we are told he is working on high profile cases, and our court
date was postponed, do we have any recource to either replace him or get his attention? (illinois)

Send him a letter stating that you feel he is "abandoning you" (use those words) and you will be getting substitute counsel and ask him if there is any reason you should not be reporting his lack of attention to your matter to the bar disciplinary authorities.

And get another lawyer.

Don't Keep Getting The Brush-Off

The very least this attorney could do is to give you a copy of the Last Will & Testament for the individual, if you don't have it already. Don't make the mistake of continuing to make phone calls about this.

Get your own business law attorney or probate/estate attorney to send him a letter requesting a copy of the will, or at least write the letter yourself and send it to him by certified mail with return receipt so you can at least prove you notified him about this very important matter.
