A probate attorney sent me a waiver of process and consent to probate. I'm listed as the sole distributee. I understand that I do not have to sign this. A 2003 will exists that leaves my fathers estate to his step-daughter, after her, his 1st grandchild. I understand that I am not entitled to anything in his estated (a co-op and some money) as I was omitted from his will. But as I am an heir, does this entitle me to anything?

Thank you. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I live in California, Will/Probate is in New York. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
