My mother has a trust that lists my brother as trustee. My mother lives in California and my brother lives in Montana. He is also listed as durable power of attorney. I thought it would be important to have the trustee/durable power of attorney in closer proximity. Also do you need to be at all knowledgeable in financial matters? My mother doesn't want to hurt his feelings by changing the trustee to my other brother who lives 2 blocks away from her and is very knowledgeable about estate planning, etc. Thanks for any advice.
