What is the name of your state? texas
relatives doing him wrong- my father inlaw has been paying the taxes on some property for some 10 years now but the property was left to him his brother and 3 sisters but they all refuse to pitch in their fair share, one year he figured he could get them to help by cutting some timber from the property and split the proceeds with all his siblings and then they would have the means of paying the taxes without being out of pocket for the money, when he received payment for the lumber he had cut he split it equally amongst them and then asked each to kick in a portion to pay the taxes, to which they all refused, so again he was stuck paying the taxes. does he have any recorse as to collecting the money he is owed from his siblings ? such as a lein or anything. he doesn't want to lose the property, as it is where he and the rest were born and grew up so there's a lot of sentimental value to him, but he is no longer able to pay the taxes because after he pays his bills and health insurance he barely has enough money to live on. he has offered to buy each of them out but they refuse to sell, can he legally cut timber from the land to suffice the tax debt without permission from the rest of them since none of them seem to care one way or the other about doing whats right. please advise!
