What is the name of your state?New York State -
When there is nothing stated in the will or any of the trusts regarding mortgage payment, who pays the mortgage debt on a QPRT property at the death of the doner - the estate or the donee? This issue is further complicated by improperly worded and/or executed trust, so the next question is - what if there is, in fact, no trustee because of legal bumbling? Does the house then become the property of the estate? HELP

You have given a lot of complicated facts here (more than you know) but the general rule is the person/entity inheriting the land gets the debt.
