What is the name of your state?I reside in Mississippi and I may be receiving a cash payout from an estate. As the receipient, am I responsible for any taxes or do I have to report that as income this year?
Thanks

Taxes, should there be any, should be paid from the Estate before the cash disbursement.

You said CASH so I will not go into the times where you would have a personal tax liability on an inheritance.
