In the state of Okla. what is the proper procedure
for releasing a lawyer that is suppose to be handling
a probate case? I have already sent him a certified letter
asking for an update (received 11/3/00). Also, how
long should I wait to receive a reply before I legally
let him go?

You probably should consult another lawyer first about replacing the slow unresponsive lawyer and if the second takes the matter, he or she would do it for you and reduce the hassle factor.
