In the event of Mother's passing and it is the last parent alive. Can her Will dictate who will get custody of her younger daughter, 14yrs old, if her older daughter of 24 yrs is of sound mind, body, and financially stable, and is to be the recipient of the custody, but the Will states she cannot not have custody if she is still engaged and or dating someone whom her mother dislikes. Can the older daughter be denied custody because she is with this person? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Since people haven't been considered property for a long time, a will cannot make a decision about children. Wishes can be stated, but a judge would make a determination.
