| It depends. Generally, executor/trustee fees are income from self-employment and the social security taxes must be paid. However, a person who does the work only in isolated instances for friends or relatives are not always considered to be engaged in a trade or business and social security taxes woud not apply. So, it depends on the facts as to the application of the trust fund taxes.
