some help please

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? louisiana
hi my name is john my father passed away about a year ago and i am the only child and he didnt have a will soo my question is ....does his things go to my mother or to me..i ask this question because my father had a boat and 2 vehicles that my mother wants me to have but i am not sure what forms i need or what i have to do in order to get these things put into my name so that i can get them registered and insured so that i can make use of them.
