What is the name of your state? CA

My mother in law was a Brazilian resident (she passed away) married to an American in a U.S. ceremony. She had a green card and she and her American husband occasionally lived in the U.S. We're assuming that her estate isn't subject to U.S. law, but to Brazilian law since she was a Brazilian resident and that's where her primary residence was. Would that be a correct assumption?
Thx!

Where did she die? How long was she married to the man and how long did she live in the US?

You need to be consulting with a local probate attorney about this.
