suicide no will

california; i have two teenage daughters whos dad commited suicide there was no will he also had a daughter from a previous who is 25 there is property left of his at his job and my daughters want to get it but his job says they cant have it unless the 25year old says its okay but she wont ! i need to know if legally they can go get the property? the state is california
