Tenants In Common On A Deed

What is the name of your state? NEW YORK. I will be inheriting a home worth about 7 figures. It's specified in my mother's will and trust it goes to me. I would like to add my name to the deed as tenants in common, for fear another family member might still try and go after her estate. Is there any way of doing so, without incurring a huge tax debt on this? The deed now is in my mother's name. Thank you!
