DEAR HELPME:

It is not state law that determines whether a payout will be made, it is the insurance company. To find out whether a payout will occur, you must examine the policy to see what is says will happen in case of suicide. Most policies will not payout, but some will. If you don't have a copy of the policy, contact the insurance company by mail or by phone and they can advise you.

SINCERELY,
