I live in PA. I am divorced from my children's father and am
living w/ my fiance (we have no current plans to legally
marry). We have provided for each other thru wills and
powers of attorney. My children (I have 3, two are still
minors, 1 over 18) are beneficiaries on my life ins. &
retirement accts. I have left them each 25% of my estate
in my will, w/ the other 25% to my fiance. The funds for the
kids are to be placed in a trust, w/ their godmother as
trustee. I do not want their father handling their money.
My question: would my life ins & IRA funds be included
in the trust set up in my will, and if not - how do I get that
money into the trust? I don't want it going directly to the
kids and having their father get his hands on it. Also
posting this on Wills forum.
thanks!

You'll need to file beneficiary forms naming the trust as the beneficiary of the IRA and the life insurance.
