What is the name of your state? CA.

My Grandmother died about 9 months ago. She died in Arizona. I live in California. I recently found out that her assets went into a trust to be divided equally among her three children. Myself and my brother are part of the Trust through my deceased mother's interest. We have yet to see a copy of the trust. We have tried to contact the executor, my Aunt, with no luck. Should I contact an attorney to help acquire a copy? Is there any other way to acquire a copy of the Trust if she will not produce it? The trust's main asset is real estate and we're not sure what we should be doing to help with the management of the property...(taxes, rents, etc) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

It is the trustee you need to be contacting, which most likely will be the aunt also. What efforts have you made to "contact" her--do you know her address and phone and is she just not responding to your inquiries? Hire a private investigator for less than a hundred dollars to get verification of her current address and phone number and then send her a certified letter with return receipt.

She may be purposely ignoring you, or she may choose just not to respond at this time because she is managing the affairs of the trust, but at least she owes you the civility of a response, as well as a copy of the trust, which you must request by asking for it by certified mail.
