What is the name of your state? florida

My husband and i have recently prepared our wills, the attorney said a revocable trust wasn't necessary, as i was benificiary to our annuities. Should he pass before me, does the will go to probate? does fl have statuary probate fees?

i also have Parkinson's and am on ssd, if i have to go to a nursing home, would a revocable trust protect our assests?

thanks for your help
