my husband is the trustee of my father in laws trust. my father in law passed away recently, he had a very uncomplicated trust and less than 600,000 in assets. i am unable to understand exactly what fees my husband is entitled to as executor. we are located in california and understand there is a sliding scale, what we are questioning is that we did not hire an attorney as the trust was not complex, is my husband also entitled to the fees that an attorney would have charged? and where can i locate the sliding scale of fees? we completed all his paperwork including his final tax returns without hiring outside assistance.
