My fathers uncle passed away recently. My father who died two years ago was told by his uncle that he was in his will. Would I as a child have a legal right to my great uncles estate if my father were named in the will. MN law. Also how would I go about finding out if the probate has been started and get a copy of the will

You need to contact the county courthouse probate court for that city. Normally, the will is supposed to be filed within 30 days of the person's death, and will contain the name and address of the executor, whom you can contact for more information and also look at the will, if you need to get a copy. However, it may take a month or more for the estate to be probated, as all assets/monies must first be claimed and estate expenses paid (debts, funeral expenses, taxes, etc.) before the remaining money can be distributed to beneficiaries.
