What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

The will specified that the house and contents are to be left to a named beneficiary. Are traveler's checks and money that are physically in the house at the time of death included in the "contents" of house? Or does contents of house exclude these, and refer only to clothing, furniture, etc.?

A likely reason that you did not receive an answer the first time you asked is that it is probably a matter of Virginia case law and nobody here know that well enough.

I'll go out on limb and say, "No, the traveler's checks are not part of the contents." Based solely upon the common usage of the term.

But that guess and a bucket of warm spit will leave you with.... a bucket of warm spit.
