My mother died in Louisiana. The will has been probated and a final judgment of possession was issued in January giving her 8 children an equal share of all property. Most of the money has been distributed and the properties have been put into our names. We were left several rental properties. Does the executor, one of the heirs, have the right to handle these properties without the expressed permission of the heirs, i.e. execute leases, pay bills and taxes? Is it the executors resposibility to sell this property or just put us in possession? When do the powers of the executor end?
