if a court ruled that two people were "common law" married and their were children on both sides, would the children be step-sisters? also do both parties have an interest in the estate? the state is alabama.

If the court rules they are "common law married" then they are just as married as if they had gone thru a formal ceremony.

The kids would be step-sisters. That usually does NOT give the step-child any right to inherit from the step parent, but I am not familiar with the details of AL law.
