In Wisconsin, are wills public record? My grandfather died ten years ago and I just found out that he had a CD set aside for me. My Grandmother and I don't speak, so I'm wondering how I can find out if there was, in fact, something Grandpa wanted me to have and what rights I have in obtaining it. Or if there's any chance at all.

:) Thanks!

Go to the probate court in the county where grandpa died and ask the clerk if there is a will on file for him.

Wills are public info.

If it does turn out that he did leave me something and I never got it, is there any way I can go about getting it? Would I have to hire an attorney?
