Carpal tunnel surgery in both hands - Missouri

I'm a Missouri worker (Auto Mechanic for 35 years) who had carpal tunnel surgery in both hands. My understanding is that I will come before a judge as a mediator for my settlement hearing. What should I expect as a settlement offer and how important is being represented by an attorney?
