What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? michigan
I own a garbage business. I have 1 employee's that claim he was hurt on the job? But never said any thing to any body till about 2 weeks later? he was a driver and the person on the back of the truck didn't no anything about it either? he was on comp for a while and then we later found out he was going to our customers and talking them into hiring them to pick up there trash while on comp? And he also had a friend that was also working for us that claimed he was hurt on the job and and went on comp. when he hurt him self he called his friend to pick him up off the route. he never called us or let any one know about his injury until the next day. He was seen helping the other guy talking to our customers and picking up garbage. We wrote letters and sent pictures of them working and after a long while they finely were denied there claim. so now they have signed up for unemployment for the reason of lack of work and now collecting benefits. they never called us or come in to let us know. Also they have the same lawyer and trying to sue us for something? what can we do?

Appeal the unemployment determination on the grounds that the employee was fired for soliciting your customers to switch to a different garbage business. This is gross misconduct.
