headache

Recently was walking down flight of stairs at work. Felt large crack in leg followed by pop. Did not fall down the stairs, but ended up on butt. Had to be helped down the rest of stairs, and put on rolling chair for help. Originally told it would fall under workers comp.....now being told that work will not file documentation and will be sent under my own insurance. What do I do...is this correct?
