husband was injured at the job close to 3 years ago. he is still not back to his regular job. he has been put on a few off site light duty jobs and still getting paid from the company he got inured at. he was just set up to work another off site job. they are forcing him to apply to another company and saying the job he got injured at has terminated him. it's this legal? how can this company terminate him and not inform him?

Also, was he not back at his regular job because he is no longer fit for that job, or not fit enough yet but may be in the future, or because they did not have an open spot available to give him? Three years is a long time for someone to be on light duty.
