We are in Illinois and my son was injured when the scoffolding broke while doing a roof job on an apartment complex. He landed on his feet on the cement and shattered his heel. He had to have 2 surgeries and was in a wheelchair for 3 months and on crutches for another month with no income. The company that hired him was paying him with a personal check. Neither him nor the company had workmans comp. Since he did not want to get them in trouble and risk not getting any further work from them in the future, he told the hospital that he was at home when it happened. It has been 4 months since the accident and he is just now able to go back to work but the company no longer wants to hire him for any jobs. Should he contact an attorney or is it too late?
