What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MN
I read somewhere that insurers are required to provide financial data and updates on open claims to their insureds until those claims are closed yet many insurers either refuse to do this or refuse to do this on a regular and consistent basis. While I realize they can refuse a third party acting on the client's behalf (even with the client's written authority), I thought they were legally obligated to provide such information directly to the insured. Is this correct and, if so, what MN statute, law, or rule addresses this?
