Just a question from a concerned husband. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MI My wife recently started working a new job. My wife was diagnosed with 3 slipped disks, 2 of which where herniated, and a small tumor in her spine last September. Her new manager is a friend of the family and had prior knowledge of her injury. Upon starting her new job my wife has so far been scheduled 12 days in a row and, was told to prepare for little to no time off. My question is that if the manager already knows about her bad back, and the condition worsens is there anything we would be able to do or is it our responsibility to make sure she gets time off IE calling in to work? |

| If I were her boss, I would make sure she had to do no significant lifting during those 12 straight days I scheduled her-- and then I'd think I had been very fair to her. I would also expect her to be careful with what she does. In the end it's still a risk for me to take if she does hurt herself even with my extra concern.

| If I was her boss, I would tell her that if she cannot perform the job she was hired to do, I would suggest finding employment the meets her physical needs.
