No Insurance

My dad died after an accident while driving a company truck; the company did not have any worker's comp insurance. Now they went bankrupt to avoid paying any settlement to my mother. HOw can this be legal and ok? Does she have any other recourse?

What state are you in? In some states, there are uninsured funds that will pay beneifts in the event an employer is not properly insured.
