Looks like you're going to be paying; SOL is five years.

Quote:
Most hospital bills arise out of unwritten, implied contracts. The limitations period on such actions is five years after the cause of action accrued. 735 ILCS 5/13-205. The five year limitations period is also affected by partial payment; the five years runs from the date of the last payment.

You settled???

Still, the bill should have been paid and now your credit is going to be screwed. This also happened to me and I sent it to the STATE OF CONNECTICUT, Attorney General who handles all comp issues and called the Head Commissioner. It was paid in less than 3 days.
Try what I did and get back to us on the outcome. Lawyers are basically legalized theives, so do not believe him. Call and ask your WC Commission. They will answer your question on the phone.....sound upset, as you should be~
