What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? I live in California and was just told by a specialist that I have osteoarthritis in my fingers and he told me to file a workman's comp claim thru work, which I did, they sent me to there doctor's and the doctor kept telling me I would be denied because this is a age thing more than a injury, I am 46 years old and this just happen overnight. I did not have this 2 months ago, I have bumps on my joints and it is very painful. My work sent me home because there doctor limited me so much they have nothing for met to do. Do I have a claim.

I am not a doctor either but I am an RN. I can tell you that Osteoarthritis is the breakdown of cartlidge between the joints causing the joints to rub together. It can be caused by an injury and it can be caused by some types of prolonged repetitive motion. Mostly the cause is unknown. I am 39 and I have osteoarthritis. I have heard of younger people having it. It is more common in older adults but can be found in younger adults also.

Do you have pain in all of your finger joints? What about other joints in your body? If you do, it is most likely not caused by your work. If you have had an injury and that is the only area you have the arthritis, then it may be a traumatic arthritis. I am not familiar with the 830laser.com that jgreidanus is talking about but it couldn't hurt to check it out! Arthritis can be very painful as well as disabling. If it is determined to be work comp or not, you have to live with the pain. Find a doctor that can help manage this for you.

I wish you the best! Good Luck!
