In North Carolina, after being injured at work and unable to function in the same position as prior to injury, can company force you to work in an alternate position for less money without any further compensation? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

they can make such an offer but, No, you don't have to accept the employment; you can choose to work for any employer.
if you decline, that information can be used to determine any additional disability benefits that may be available.

They can’t force you into employment with them, you can choose to work for any company. Additionally, ask your state for disability benefits.
