What is the name of your state? NC

what is "workers compensation rates" ? is it the amount paid to an injured party or the amount the employer would pay for insurance? In either case would the amount remain constant during any calendar year?

"workers compensation rate" most likely refers to the weekly compensation rate that is paid to the employee. There is also a rate of compensation that applies to permanent partial impairments, temporary partial impairments, permanent total impairment/disability, and death. Those rates are for the purpose of determining a settlement amount vs. a weekly compensation rate.

You can read Chapter 97 of the NC General Statutes at this site: http://www.ncleg.net/statutes/statutes.asp
"Browse/Table of Contents" will be at the top of the right-hand column; click on "Table of Contents" and go to chapter 97, Workers Compensation Act.

If your server allows you, you can go directly to the TOC page at this link:
http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/Statutes/StatutesTOC.pl
It's still Chapter 19.
