Worker Comp & StressWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL My wife's coworker attacked her by throwing his badge into her face. Her employer had her sent to the hospital (I actually picked her up and drove her) - she had a light scratch on her face. She was examined and release. She had a few days off (basically 2 days and the evening the altercation happened) before she needed to return to work but she became very stressed on the day she was to return to work and ended up not working that day. She tried for a few more days off and at one point had chest pains and her doctor ordered her to report to the ER. The hospital kept her overnight. Her employer is refusing to cover any medical bills and I believe they are also refusing to cover some of the time off. What are our options as far as trying to get them to at least cover the medical bills? |

| I don't think the panic attacks will be covered by workers comp. She is clearly having an irrational reaction to a minor altercation and should seek counseling to figure out why. But it will be difficult to tie it back to the incident at work. It should be covered by her normal insurance and the absence should fall under FMLA.
