In Washington state if a person receiving L&I benefits passes away does the divorced spouse continue to receive benefits? They were married for 20+ years and received benefits before the divorce. They were also legally divorced but still together...very complicated.

A divorced spouse is not entitled to receive loss of time benefits. If you are 62, you could potentially receive SS on his wage record.
