What is the name of your state? Ohio

My mother has an outstanding BWC claim. BWC advised her attorney they want to settle the claim. My Mother passed away before she could sign the settlement papers. Can the settlement go to her estate? Her attorney stated because of her death, the claim is now void. Doesnt seem right. Thanks
