What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MI

My name is E and I was injured at work on 9-17-11, I am a bus boy at a high end italian restaraunt. I was asked by another employee to help him carry something (in the course of my job description) and while walking backwards into freezer that's door was only able to be partially opened due to a cart blocking the door, I tripped on a 1" ledge that lead into the cooler falling backwards and having my foot snap under me. I went to the ER, then a specialist and ended up having a surgery on 12-22-11. I was undergoing physical therapy the whole time. I ended up going back on a trial work period during July 7 2011, and was scheduled to work 4 hours under restriction. My employer has been keeping me about 30 minutes after the alotted time which isn't that big of a deal to me. What is a big deal to me is that I was told I would be able to work every other day and only after working 7 days every other day, I was now scheudled to work 4 days back to back on 4 hours at a time. I was asked if it was ok with me by a general manager AFTER the scheudle came out to which I replied yes because I didn't want to anger them. After consulting a family member a few hours later I was told to stick to the original restrictions and not to break them in order to protect myself from further injury and workmans comp saying in the event that I was injured while violating restrictions that it was my fault. I am also concerned that by calling my boss tomorrow and telling him I am unable to work consecutively that he will have to re-arrange the employess scheudles and get mad at me for it and punish me. Possibly by just waiting until I make a small mistake so they fire me, or give me a hard time while i'm at work. What is your opinion on this?

This is a no-brainer. Why would you risk your health and mobility over a concern that you might tick off your employer for a period while you recovery from your work injury? Perhaps your boss just misunderstood your schedule requirements?
